Register Now: Ben Franklin Venture Idol, November 5, 2009
Join us for the 2009 Ben Franklin Venture Idol on Thursday, November 5, 2009, 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, at the Hilton Hotel and Conference Center, Scranton.
Similar to the TV show American Idol, but with entrepreneurs rather than singers, this event will begin with a form of “speed dating,” as startup technology companies present brief “elevator pitches” to potential investors. Jack Tighe, CEO of TMG Health, one of the region’s most successful entrepreneurs, will present the luncheon keynote speech. Tighe will be introduced by Austin Burke, the president of the Greater Scranton Chamber of Commerce.
In the afternoon, three early-stage technology entrepreneurs will deliver presentations to a panel of investors, guided by the emcee, Pennsylvania State Treasurer Rob McCord. Audience members will vote on which entrepreneur made the strongest presentation, and a new Ben Franklin Venture Idol will be crowned and a prize check awarded.
