DuraTite Systems Wins Dealer Design Award for HVAC Components
DuraTite Systems is well on its way to becoming a world-class producer of HVAC ducting components that dramatically speed up installation and increase the energy efficiency of residential and light commercial buildings. As proof of its growing recognition, the company’s polypropylene trunk line take off recently won the Gold Award in the Ventilation Products Category at the 2007 Dealer Design Awards Program.
“This award represents a huge validation for our product and company in the marketplace,” says Stacy Corapi, director of sales and marketing for the Erie-based Ben Franklin Technology Partners portfolio company.
Win Brings Positive Industry Exposure
As a result of the win, the product was featured in the July 16 issue of The News, the leading HVAC trade magazine, along with a very select group of other products that were highly rated for ease of installation, maintenance, and service.
“The News is the number one resource for the HVAC industry, which will mean a tremendous boost in our exposure to over 40,000 key decision makers. It’s also just eight weeks before the largest HVAC contractor show of the season, which means a significant increase in our awareness to end users,” adds Corapi.
Saving Installation Time
CEO Jim Karnes believes DuraTite’s product was chosen in large part because of its ease of installation. “Installers are saving 50 percent in time using our take offs versus the traditional metal collars. The air-tight connection, stay-in-place damper and elimination of personal injury with DuraTite Take Offs certainly make the product stand out. The construction industry as a whole seeks out quality products that save time in installation and provide overall worker safety.”
DuraTite launched in February 2006 with the help of Ben Franklin Technology Partners. “The financial support helped us to grow our marketing efforts and create an impressive awareness, as we’ve been told by many customers and prospects across the U.S.,” Corapi says. “DuraTite was able to exhibit in several more trade shows, which generated the increased exposure. Our Ben Franklin contacts have been wonderful, consulting us along the way through our growing pains and also introducing us to other consultants, potential investors, vendors and customers to steadily boost future growth.”
