Boomi acquired by Dell
Boomi Inc., a Berwyn-based cloud computing software company, was recently acquired by Dell, Inc. for an undisclosed sum.
Boomi’s flagship product is cloud-based software called AtomSphere that allows users to integrate their various software applications, regardless of whether those applications are in the cloud or on their premises.
Boomi received $250,000 in seed funding from Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania in August 2002. Its only venture-capital financing was $4 million from FirstMark Capital in the summer of 2008.
Boomi was started in 2000 by Rick Nucci and Brian Mozhdehi. Today, Boomi’s technology solutions are widely used with the world’s leading cloud-based applications, including Salesforce CRM, as well as marketing, financial, human resources, content management and service-desk management. Boomi manages millions of transactions a month and has completed tens of thousands of cloud integrations for hundreds of customers globally across a wide spectrum of industries.
“The Boomi team is thrilled to be joining the Dell family,” said Bob Moul, Boomi president and CEO. “This was a fantastic outcome for the team, our customers and partners. Dell gives us the global platform to continue to scale Boomi AtomSphere as the leading integration solution in the SaaS and cloud computing industry.”
